Vtech Kidizoom Camera in Use - Best Review

The grips might be a little big if your child is too young just like in the case of my little one. And also my daughter couldn’t easily reach the button for the shutter release. However, if the children are a little older, around 5 or six, then there should be no problems. And there is an OK button that serves as a shutter release as well and it should help children with smaller fingers.

The controls are very easy and the D-pad is for tangling with the photo, when you take pictures. When you are in video then the D-pad can search through the videos taken before and watch them on the screen.

Below the LCD you find the controls for the volume, speakers and power. There is an very visible ‘X’ that it is for erasing the photos and videos you don’t like. Below the D-pad there is the button to change the camera mode and an ‘I’ button under the LCD. On the back of the camera there is the USB port to connect the camera with other devices.

You may have some problem opening the door to find the USB port. However, youngsters will love a level of difficulty so that they can mess around with a camera a bit. In order to open the grips and find the batteries you need a screw driver so children cannot open it at any time and lose the batteries every day.

You will definitely use the SD card slot and add some memory. I add 2GB and it was more than enough. This memory can store some 400 photos, if not more. I believe it is more than enough for the little kids. If you connect the camera to the computer you will see that the components used in this camera are Canon. Not bad, heh?

There is a special software that gives you the chance to distort the photos. You can add hats, funny noses, silly ears and many more. Children love that because it is a very funny process. There is only 0.3 megapixels that doesn’t give the best results in the picture details but children don’t mind that at all.

They will love their photos no matter how they are even though you may don’t find them very appealing. You will also notice a slight problem with the flash (kids won’t). Some pictures are too bright because the flash is too very strong. So, if they take the picture form very close then the photo will be too white.

It’s a bit pointless to start wondering how the quality of the images will be because children don’t even know what that is. They will love the pictures they will take and trust me they will want them all printed. It’s something that they have created on their own and will be proud of that no matter what you think of the quality. And they have the games that are designed for pre-school ages and will add more fun to the camera in general.

You can be certain that this camera will last for a long time. My children have dropped the camera quite a few times and it hasn’t broken or been damaged. Or children may use the camera for several other purposes such as hitting something with it but you will see that the VTech Kidizoom camera will keep working.
